She began formal training at Jon Louis Beauty School in the Bronx and refined her craft in salons throughout Manhattan and the Bronx before breaking into the entertainment industry. Her illustrious career includes leading the hair department for eight seasons of Love & Hip Hop NY, as well as working on productions like Hustle & Soul, Power Confidential, and Netflix films Freedom and The Black Beauty Effect. Akeesha’s artistry on The Tamron Hall Show earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination, solidifying her reputation as a top-tier talent. Her exceptional client roster includes Retta, Cardi B, Melba Moore, Michelle Edwards of the New York Liberty, and USA Gold Olympic athlete Sanya Richards-Ross.
